Israeli angels invest in Agora’s real estate asset management magic

By iwa[email protected]_84

Despite the extravagant lifestyle, enormous sums of money, fancy suits, and major development projects, the real estate investment industry still operates behind the scenes in an archaic fashion, cluttered with complicated Excel sheets and exhaustingly long back-and-forth emails. A new Israeli startup called Agora, developer of a more modern and updated tool for real estate investment management, announced an $890k Seed funding round from private investors.

A platform for real estate investors to erase Excel sheets from their process

Agora provides investors with a comprehensive dashboard that organizes an investor’s portfolio all onto one platform. Just by clicking on one of the projects or assets displays all details related to said asset, as well as categorizing important documents that may be required or attached. All the documents are backed up in the cloud and the system also enables users digital signature options.

This comes as yet another digitized solution gaining

Buckling under massive debts and tonnes of unsold sugar, state-owned mills are on the brink –

By [email protected]_84

Selling the stockpiled sugar will obviously enable the mills to clear some of the payments, officials said, before warning that doing so at a time may make the market unstable.

Moreover, the production cost, which is more than twice the market price of sugar in the mills, has put all the plans for their revival in jeopardy.

The bleak prospects have forced the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation, or BSFIC, to seek a funding of Tk 8.5 billion to pay off their debts.

State-owned sugar industry is suffering the same fate as the jute sector due to corruption and irregularities, said the sugarcane farmers who are awaiting payment.

The Prime Minister’s Office has formed a committee to identify the flaws in managing the 15 state-owned sugar mills.

Bangladesh has to import a large quantity of sugar every year as the state-owned mills cannot supply even 100,000 tonnes against an

By [email protected]_84

Prime Day is basically Amazon’s version of Black Friday.

ZDNet has detailed Amazon’s every move for years, including its insane growth and negative impact on retail as a whole. Doom and gloom aside, one of the more fun aspects of the company is its annual fire-sale event. Pitched as Amazon’s “holiday of savings,” it gives Black Friday a run for its money — while also likely making Walmart and other rivals wince with jealousy. Name one person who doesn’t shop at Amazon. You can’t do it, right?

So, here’s everything we know about Prime Day so far.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015, by introducing a full day of sales on The company offered deep discounts on Amazon-branded products as well as tens of thousands of other items from third-party sellers. The entire event, called Prime Day, was a huge success, and so

Lounge Heroes | This entrepreneur makes sure every bride gets her dream dress

By [email protected]_84

Last week, Sabitha A.K. received a call that left her overwhelmed. It was from KN, a young woman, who told her: “Bhabhi, until recently, I used to pray with a heavy heart. It would feel like nothing would ever be right. But thanks to you, today I had a smile on my face while praying.”

The 23-year-old from a poor family in Pinarayi, in Kerala’s Kannur district, had been struggling: Her wedding was days away and she didn’t even have a bridal outfit. Till Sabitha, who happens to know KN, stepped in, sourcing a designer outfit for her big day.

Two months ago, in a unique initiative, the 41-year-old entrepreneur—founder of Rainbow Women’s Outfits in the coastal city of Kannur— started sourcing pre-owned bridal wear from Mumbai, Ernakulam, Kochi, Dubai, the UK and elsewhere, donating it free of cost to young brides from poverty-stricken homes in Kerala.
