GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division is using computer analysis as part of an ongoing investigation into video released of Belton Mayor Tiffany Ownbey that her attorney says is a case of “revenge porn.”

A spokesman for the agency, which was asked to take up the case by local law enforcement in late June, said Friday that they’re “actively using computer forensics” as part of the investigation, according to the Greenville News.

The State Law Enforcement Division is “actively using computer forensics” — the  science and analysis of evidence found on computers or related storage — as part of its ongoing investigation into the release of a video showing private, intimate moments involving a man and Belton Mayor Tiffany Ownbey, a SLED spokesperson said Friday.

SLED spokesperson Tommy Crosby has said the case involves an unauthorized publication of the video on social media.

“We continue to look into the situation, and we’re exhausting all forensics and investigative leads,” Crosby said last week.
