I’ve been gushing about the Creative D200 for quite some time now on this site and it is only appropriate that I do a complete, in-depth review of these excellent Bluetooth speakers. Since I’ve already devoted plenty of reams to its smaller sibling – the D100, I’ll ignore it for now and focus entirely on the D200, which is among Creative’s best offerings in the wireless speaker space.
Creative D200 Wireless Bluetooth Speakers Review – Design
Housed in a single, 19″ long, sleek black case, the Creative D200 can certainly be given some points for its rather futuristic looks. At just 4.6lbs, this is a rather fleet footed Bluetooth speaker that is easy to toss into a car on a camping trip. Don’t mistake it for one of those ‘pocket’ speakers (a la Monster ClarityHD or Soundmatters foxLv2) though, measuring 18.8 x 4.9 x 5.1 inches.

The logistics of getting all of the wires right is the biggest problem in setting up a new home theater system. With the standard surround sound system installation, you may also be forced to drill holes in the walls to conceal the wires running from the front receiver to your back surround sound speakers. If you would like to do away with some of the unsightly wires and clutter of an ordinary system, then a wireless surround sound system may be what you need.
In any common wired setup a the speakers usually includes just one front center channel, left and right front channels, left and right rear or surround channels plus a single bass channel. In a good number of wireless systems sold today the left and right rear speakers will be wireless. The days of having to face wired speakers are over and wireless speakers have become a … Read More
The first oligarchic revolution was in 411BC and known as ‘The Oligarchic Coup’ or ‘The Four Hundred’. This change in government came about for a number of reasons including the lack of money and resources due to the failure of the Sicilian expedition (Thuc. 6 ). The revolution started in the fleet stationed at Samos in the summer of 412BC where Alcibiades professed that he could win Persian support for the Athenians but only if they were governed by an oligarchy instead of a democracy (Oxford Dic. of the Classical World pg. 295). The second oligarchic revolution was known as the ‘The Thirty’ or ‘The Thirty Tyrants’ (coined by Diodorus)who took power after Athens defeat in the Peloponnesian war. Due to the peace terms imposed by Lysander, the thirty were chosen to run the government and draft new laws however their power led to the death of many a democratic … Read More

When we use the word “citizens” we are usually referring to a group of people who live in the same city, with a common origin, language, customs and laws. According to Plato, the ideal city should have no more than 5000 inhabitants, so that they would all know each other. But in 5th century Athens, things were somewhat different, with approximately 40,000 citizens, 20,000 metoici (resident aliens) and about 100,000 slaves. To these we must also add the women and children, who were never included in the numbers of inhabitants.
The male inhabitants of Athens were divided into three groups: citizens, metoici and slaves. Athenian citizens were only men 18 years of age and older whose forebears had been Athenians for three generations. From pre-historic times, there was always a road that crossed the south side of the Agora, even before it became the centre of the City, and which still exists today, beyond the archaeological site. In the 6th century, two significant structures were located at either end of this road: to the west, the main Athens courthouse, the Heliaia, and at the other end, the monumental fountain Pausanias called the Enneakrounos. After the Persian Wars, the Southern Stoa and the Mint of the Athenian Republic were added. During the Hellenistic years, it became the commercial centre of the city, with three colonnaded areas forming a large rectangle open on the west side near the courthouse. Other structures included: a new southern Stoa, aligned with the Heliaia, a small eastern Stoa which was the official entrance to the complex, and a stately Middle Stoa which can still be distinguished by the reddish … Read More
